This model was built approximately ten years ago using the AMT/ERTL 18" version of the "U.S.S. Enterprise."  It was assembled following the example in an article titled " The Ultimate Starship," by Richard Van Treuren.  The article is one of several in the first edition Kalmbach Books, "Famous Spaceships of Fact and Fantasy...And how to model them."  Unfortunately, at the time the article was published, the wealth of information we have today about the original studio model was not widely available.  Consequently, my model is not a totally accurate representation of the original "Enterprise."  I will point out some of it's short falls in the next few pictures.
