The AMT/ERTL model kit I
used includes inaccurate markings. The typeface used for the text is not the same
as on the production version of the original studio model. I have provided an
illustration below, courtesy of "The
IDIC Page," that shows the differences between the pilot and production version
typefaces. You can obtain more accurate markings from "Thomas Models." Shane
Johnson, author of "Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise." also made a
set of accurate decals for this model. I am not sure where you may obtain the Shane
Johnson decals, but if anyone does, please let me know!
